Behind the Scenes: A Sun-Soaked Content Shoot in Dumaguete, Philippines

Sunshine, island life, and a little laundry magic. Come behind the scenes of our latest House of Mabangó shoot in the Philippines.

There's something special about creating content in the Philippines. Maybe it's the tropical warmth, the laid-back island atmosphere, or the feeling that summer is never too far away.

Last week, we headed to Dumaguete, Philippines, for a content shoot that brought together everything we love about House of Mabangó: sunshine, creativity and a connection to our Filipino roots. And of course, a little laundry.

At House of Mabangó, we've always believed that laundry can be more than another household chore. It can be a little moment of joy, a refreshing ritual, and even a reminder of summer.

Our Filipino heritage has been part of our story from the beginning. Even our name, Mabangó, comes from the Filipino word for fragrant.So taking our laundry essentials to the Philippines for a content shoot felt like a natural extension of who we are.

For this shoot, we wanted to capture the effortless feeling of island life while showing how our products fit into everyday moments. Nothing overly complicated. Just beautiful surroundings and laundry essentials that make the ordinary feel a little more special.

Meet the Faces Behind the Shoot: Carmen & Elaikah

Behind the camera was photographer Carmen, who helped bring our creative vision to life. In front of the lens was Elaikah. Alongside modeling, Elaikah is studying marine biology. Her interest in the ocean felt especially fitting for a brand inspired by tropical island life and the natural beauty of the Philippines.

We wanted to create something that felt connected to the place, rather than simply using the Philippines as a beautiful backdrop. And having Elaikah and Carmen,  who both call the island home, made the experience even more meaningful.

Laundry Essentials With a Little Island Energy

From our lightweight Laundry Detergent Sheets to our Fabric Spray and Laundry Perfume, House of Mabangó is all about making everyday laundry feel a little less ordinary.

Our signature fragrance, Ylang in the Sun, combines notes of ylang-ylang, orange blossom, and vanilla, inspired by that warm, sun-kissed feeling we never want to leave behind. It's a little reminder of summer, even when you're nowhere near a tropical island.

That's exactly the feeling we wanted to bring into this shoot: practical laundry care with a playful, feel-good twist. Because who says laundry can't look good, too?
